A Midsummer Night’s Dream Opens Mother’s Day Weekend at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City

The curtain goes up on A Midsummer Night’s Dream this Mother’s Day weekend. The show opens Friday, May 12th at 7:00 P.M, with additional shows May 13, 14, 19, 20 and 21. Performances take place in the Maize Theater at the Brewery Arts Center.

Great Basin Scottish Highland Games returns May 20-21

The second annual Great Basin Scottish Highland Games return to Sparks. Hosted by the Northern Nevada Throwing Company, which focuses on bringing the love and heritage of the Scottish Highlands to Northern Nevada through heavy athletics and cultural celebration.

Carson City's Catmandu hosts big yard sale this weekend

A big Catmandu yard sale is happening this Friday, May 19 and Saturday, May 20 starting at 8 a.m. at 3831 Southpointe Dr in south Carson City off Silver Sage. The event is not at Catmandu but all proceeds benefit the kitties and Catmandu.

Carson City Historical Society hosts a presentation on 'Victorian Fashions and Dress Reform' by Jan Loverin

Carson City Historical Society (CCHS) is proud to host a lecture/presentation by Jan Loverin, curator of the Marjorie Russell Textile Museum, on "Victorian Fashions and Dress Reform" on Friday, May 19, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The lecture is free and open to the public. This Saturday, May 20, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office is will host its annual Cops and Kids Open House event. The event is free for all and will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.

Turn small steps into bold strides toward a world without lung disease by walking in this year’s annual American Lung Association LUNG FORCE Walk to support the organization’s life-saving work in Nevada. The event takes place on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Idlewild Park, 1900 Idlewild Dr., Reno.

Participants can walk or run the route. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. with the walk/run starting at 8:30 a.m.
