Carson City Humane Society's Pet of the Week: Oso
Happy Wednesday Carson City, and easy hello to Oso!
Oso is a small dog with a big heart and lots of love to give still. He is 10 years old and is blind and deaf, with moderate dental disease. He’s afraid of strangers and other dogs at first, but once he feels safe, he really comes out of his shell. Oso loves it when people sit with him as he eats and loves plushy toys.
He has been in the shelter since late April and loves to play with other dogs his size.
Oso is excited off-leash and wants to work on his shyness, in addition to getting better at riding in cars. Oso overall is very well-behaved and loves hugs, too.
We talked to Oso, and here’s what he said: “Let me guess: You sing in the car. Loudly. Off-key. Or you snore, or talk in your sleep, or like to practice your bagpipe playing. It won’t bother me because, well...I can’t hear. That's right, I'm deaf! But I know all the obedience hand signals, and I'll just snooze away happily at night while you snore and mutter. Come and adopt me today; as a senior, I’m free.”
Come and meet Oso at the Carson Shelter at 549 Airport Rd. It’s also National Rescue Dog Day this weekend, so it would be perfect time to rescue a senior from the shelters.
