The Clear Creek Bowmen, an archery organization in Carson City, held its fundraising archery shoot on Sunday, May 8 and took in about $1,000 in entry fees to fight cancer. Click to the PDF below for a complete list of winners.
Officials report that there were 67 shooters that participated in the fundraiser. The donation will be made to the Carson Advocates for Cancer Care.
The Clear Creek Bowmen was founded in 1973 by Fred Radtke, Mike Kinkel, Fern Meigs, Tim Meigs, John Schulz, Jim Schlapkohl, Jim Davis, Albert Uhart and Laurel Cooney.
The archery range was located on the Spooner Summit between Highway 50 and Clear Creek Road. In 1999 the land went into a Family Trust and the range could no longer be used by the Clear Creek Bowmen. The Clear Creek Bowmen obtained a Special Use Agreement with Carson City to move the Range on a small portion of land just east of Centennial Park off of Highway 50 East.
