Two people airlifted to hospital after Ash Canyon accident
Here is the account:
We were coming down from Hobart, about a mile down from top the road was blocked by an accident. We backed up the road and pulled off to get out of the way. It’s a pretty rough dirt road, passable certainly, but it has its hazards.Carson City sheriff had a motorcycle office and a blacknwhite on scene. Two yellow and white emergency response vans were on site. As well as a couple of personal truck and quad runners. It appeared that a couple had been thrown from their 2-wheel motorcycle while descending the road.
Responders were working on both people for some minutes when the first helicopter came overhead, assessed the situation, then landed down the road a ways at Landing 1 or Landing 2 (we’re not sure which).
Shortly after that a second helicopter came in and landed.
Responders wrapped up one of the people in “shiny stuff”, presumable thermals for shock(?) and put them in one of the yellow and white emergency vehicles, that then backed all the way down to where the helicopters were.
The vehicle returned and after spending sometime apparently stabilizing and securing the second person to a backboard, they transported that person down the hill to the helicopters.
We observed from a safe distance and did not get a chance to speak to any of the parties.
