Carson City Sheriff's deputies make arrests for domestic battery, DUI

A 40-year-old woman was arrested Monday for suspicion of domestic battery and simple battery, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.

At approximately 4:16 p.m. deputies were dispatched to an East Long Street address. Dispatch advised a woman had battered two adults in the home.

Deputies arrived and the suspect was not there. A deputy spoke with a man who stated he used to be in a dating relationship with the woman but recently broke up because he got back together with his wife.

He told the deputy the woman came into his room and argued with him. He told her to leave but she wouldn't and then she hit him in the face and scratched his forehead where he had blood coming from the wound, according to the booking report. He stated the woman was invited to the residence to pick up the rest of her belonging that he put outside for her so she would not come into the house.

The deputy spoke with the man's wife who stated the woman banged on the door. When she opened the door the woman pushed her to the side. They began arguing where she stated the woman hit her in the face and pulled on her shirt. The woman had red marks around her neck where the shirt was pulled and red marks on her face and a scrape to the elbow, the report states.

Later the suspect was located on Table Rock Drive in Carson City where she was arrested. During an interview, the deputy determined the woman was the primary aggressor and she was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery and simple battery. Bail: $6,274.

In other arrests:
— A 44-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of DUI, no license plate light and failure to obey a traffic control device.

A driver was stopped in the area of Bath and Curry streets for not having a working license plate lights and for running a stop sign. The driver informed the officer that he had consumed a couple beers earlier. The man had thick, slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person. The man agreed to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests. He advised he did not want to provide a preliminary breath test.

He was arrested for suspicion of DUI. At jail he consented to a breath test with results of .204 and .204. Bail: $1,361.

— A 19-year-old man was arrested Monday for misdemeanor soliciting without a permit, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.

According to the report a deputy was dispatched to the area of Saint George Way regarding a man soliciting magazines and refusing to leave the reporting party's property.

The deputy arrived and located the man in question on Bristol Place where he was leaving another residence. The man stated he had an identification card, however not in his possession. Dispatch was unable to locate any information for the man.

The deputy spoke with the reporting party who advised the man was asked multiple times to leave. According to the suspect, he said he waits for three "rebuttals" before he will leave someone's property.

While in the area, another concerned citizen pulled up and asked f the sheriff's office had received calls about a subject soliciting. The citizen stated the man was very "pushy" when soliciting.

The man did not have valid identification and he did not possess a solicitor permit as required to solicit in Carson City.

The deputy noted the Sheriff's Office has received multiple calls regarding subjects going door to door soliciting.

Due to the man not having any valid forms of identification, a fixed address and not having a required permit, he was arrested for soliciting without a permit. Bail: $6137.

— Two were booked Monday for misdemeanor warrants alleging possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $1,000 each.

— A 52-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for a gross misdemeanor destruction of property warrant, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report. Book and release.

Traffic was slow going in Carson City along Highway 50 East following two crashes Tuesday, according to Nevada State Police. There was a crash reported at around 3:50 p.m. on US-50 East and Nye Lane. There was a second crash at 5:18 p.m. reportedly near US-50 and Brown Street.
