Carson City scorecard shows more injury accidents, flu in March
More reported traffic accidents with injuries and higher cases of influenza were reported in March, according to Carson City's monthly operational scorecard.
In March there were 11 injury accidents. Weather conditions may have been the reason as snow and ice on the roads continued through the month. Total traffic accidents in the city for the month of March was 37, statistically down from three year averages. There were no fatal accidents in the month of March.
In the areas of reported crime, there were nine auto thefts, 26 thefts, 13 reported vehicle thefts, five reported commercial burglaries, five residential burglaries, 53 simple assaults and 11 aggravated assaults. There were no homicides, forcible sexual assaults or robberies for the month of March. On the fire side, there were four fire suppression calls that resulted in building damage. There were 21 fire-related calls to dispatch.
In health, there were 51 reported cases of influenza, 10 non-STD, non-vaccine preventable disease reports, and 12 cases of reported sexually transmitted disease.
On the business side, there were 71 business license applications processed, 362 processed renewals, and 59 businesses reported "out of business."
