Carson City area weather: Cool temperatures then warmup beginning midweek
Sweater weather will continue around the Carson City region through Tuesday, with daytime temperatures in the upper 50s, according to the National Weather Service. A gradual warmup begins Wednesday, with high temperatures in the 60s and then 70s Thursday through Sunday.
Some scattered rain showers are possible for Carson City into Monday night followed by mostly sunny skies on Tuesday. Further south, light snowfall is expected in Mono County and higher elevations of western Mineral County through Wednesday.
Looking ahead, high pressure builds back in across the West Coast for the last half of the week. The ridge will bring clearing skies and warming temperatures.
High temperatures will be around 10 degrees above average, with highs near 80 degrees in the western Nevada valleys and near 70 for the Sierra valleys, according to the weather service. By the weekend, models have shown some cloud cover and increased winds, with a slight chance of showers Sunday.
