Here is the Carson City and Lake Tahoe area road report for the week of May 1-7, 2017. Road closures expected at the following locations due to road and utility work. Please use caution.

— Sonoma Street between Saliman Road and Halleck Drive will be closed, from Monday at 7 a.m. to Friday at 5:30 p.m.

Beginning Monday, May 1, Q&D Construction will make repairs to some of the paver crosswalks in the downtown Carson City area caused by this winter's weather events, according to Carson City Public Works.

During the winter storms, the city had an abnormal amount of water that wasn't anticipated in these crosswalk areas, which washed out a lot of the sand underneath the pavers, or around 1 inch of material.
Carson Street will remain open for commuters during construction. See the video here.
