Shaheen Beauchamp Builders celebrates 20th anniversary, Summit Award
Shaheen Beauchamp Builders, LLC kicked off its 20th anniversary celebration by claiming the 2017 Retail Development of the Year Summit Award and receiving a Senatorial Certificate from Sen. Dean Heller’s office.
“We are honored to receive the Summit Award for our work on the Advocates to End Domestic Violence thrift shop, Classy Seconds,” Jeff Shaheen, co-owner of Shaheen Beauchamp, said. “Each of these projects contribute in special ways to the community they inhabit.”
Shaheen said the 14,500 square-foot retail operation was a dream many years in the making throughout his 10 years serving on the organization’s board of directors.
“For many of those years, we painstakingly walked the organization through the development process, from land acquisition to entitlements and permitting to completion,” he said. “With the thrift store responsible for providing the revenue stream for the organization to provide community outreach and services, the building had to be spectacular.”
Soaring ceilings, windows everywhere, and a bold storefront incorporating the organization’s vibrant purple and green signature colors that would pass city approval defined the space, Shaheen said.
Retail space accounts for 11,000 square feet, with the remaining space serving as receiving and sorting with a covered receiving area with drive through access and roll up door.
The project included working extensively with the Nevada Department of Transportation to improve drainage mitigation along U.S. Highway 50. Other improvements for the Carson City Corridor Beautification Project included a walking path and landscaping.
Over the course of the project, as many as 60 tradespeople, employed by fifteen local subcontractors, worked to complete the building and site improvements.
The builders celebrated their accomplishments at a mixer for Nevada Builders Alliance, hosted at Battle Born Social, located in their building at 318 North Carson Street.
Aaron West, CEO of Nevada Builders, presented co-founder Mark Beauchamp and Shaheen with a Senatorial Certificate of congratulations for their contributions to Nevada’s economic development from U.S. Sen. Dean Heller.
