Gardnerville's Historic Jacob’s Family Berry Farm, previously the original Lampe Homestead, is on the market
The Historic Jacob’s Family Berry Farm in Gardnerville, which was the original Lampe Homestead, is on the market for $2.65 million.
The property was first developed by the Lampe family, one of Carson Valley’s founding families, in 1867.
The current owners, Jack and Diana Jacobs, have spent years nearly 20 years restoring the property to its former glory, but they are planning on moving to Taos, New Mexico in order to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Prior to the Jacobs purchasing the property, the property was run by three generations of Lampe family ranchers for 115 years.
The Nevada Museums and History Board approved the property to be listed in the Nevada Register of Historic Places in March of 2018. The property is still home to the historic creamery, chicken house, workshop, privy, bunk house, and two loafing sheds, as well as the original farm house and barn. The ranch house was first built in 1898 by Wilhelm and Maria Lampe with the barn following in 1901 and the creamery in 1909.

The berry farm is currently open by appointment only for berry jam; to purchase, please call or text 775-450-3580 to schedule an appointment.
The farm was originally placed for sale on Oct. 3, 2020 with an asking price of 2,750,000. The price was lowered on April 26, 2021 to $2,650,000.
