Carson City’s Living Stones Church donated nearly 4,000 diapers, over 400 lbs of food to FISH
According to Carson City’s Friends in Service Helping (FISH), the Living Stones Church spring drive in conjunction with the Brewery Arts Center was able to contribute a significant amount of food and diapers for the community.
In total, Living Stones collected 417lbs of food and 3,905 diapers for the donation.
“Thank you Living Stones Carson City and Brewery Arts Center for coordinating this annual food drive in support of FISH,” a spokesperson for FISH said. “These items will go directly to helping individuals and families within our community that are experiencing food insecurities and financial hardships.”
Living Stones has been holding the drive since March, during which those who wished to help could donate either at the church itself or within the BAC lobby.
“Due to rising food costs and availability of resources, our food banks are having to work harder to provide for food insecure families in our community,” a spokesperson for Living Stones said.
