St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School students spend day with Carson City leaders
St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School eighth graders Margaret Rich, vice president student council and Alejandro Escobar, council secretary, recently spent a day with the Carson City Board of Supervisors.
Former Carson Mayor Harold Jacobsen was honored and given a presentation and took pictures with the board and the St. Teresa students.
In the photos are the students, plus Jean Perpich from Wells Fargo Bank; Mrs. Christine Perdomo principal of St. Teresa's school, Margaret Rich vice president student council St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School; Mayor Bob Crowell; student Alejandro Escobar, Supervisors Karen Abowd, Brad Bonkowski and John McKenna.
It was a great experince in local government and civic duty for the children. They spent time hearing debates about the future of UNR/ WNC and many different opinions for community support and funding.
