Disturbed man tasered after lunging at Carson City deputies
A 47-year-old transient faces assault and disorderly conduct charges after telling Carson City deputies they were going to die and that he was the president.
On Monday at about 12:30 p.m. officers responded to a call about a man who was seen yelling and punching cars near the Carson Nugget. The disturbed man was described as having white hair that stuck straight up and wearing a blue shirt and carrying a black bag.
Officers approached the man, who began yelling at them that he was the President of United States of America, according to the arrest report. As the man became more agitated he walked closer to the officers.
The arresting officer drew his Taser because the man kept yelling and told officers to "fu** off, you're all going to die, mother fu**ers." Another responding deputy gave the man the command again to back up and put his hands on his head.
The man walked toward the deputy. A deputy told him to back up. The man then charged at the officer and a taser was deployed, with the probes hitting him twice in the stomach.
Two deputies then grabbed the suspect's arms and put them behind his back. The Taser ran for the allotted 5 seconds and the man did not resist deputies, according to the arrest report.
The man was placed in cuffs, helped to his feet and taken to the patrol vehicle. The man continued to yell, saying to the officers that they had 'just fu**ed up" and that they were "going to die in 6 hours and 8 minutes."
The man was transported to jail, and a request was made for a psychological exam. The man faces misdemeanor charges of assault on a motor vehicle, disorderly conduct and resisting a public safety officer. Bail has been set at $1,216.
