Carson City emergency crews called to multi-vehicle crash at South Carson and Koontz
Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called early Thursday evening to a multi-vehicle crash that happened in the area of South Carson Street and Koontz. Two medical helicopters were ordered.
The crash, which happened in the southbound lane of the 3600 block of South Carson Street, involves multiple vehicles and was reported at 6:10 p.m. Arriving Carson City Fire Department rescue personnel report at least two people with serious injuries.
The medical helicopters landed at the Park and Ride off of Highway 50 at Spooner Junction. The two patients were each flown to Renown Medical Center trauma ward in Reno.
At least one other was taken by ground ambulance to the hospital, according to NHP.
Traffic was diverted around the crash scene. Motorists can expect delays. The cause of the crash is under investigation through the Nevada Highway Patrol.
