Weather system to bring gusty winds Sunday, rain showers Monday

A cold front will move through the Sierra and Western Nevada beginning Sunday night bringing breezy conditions to Carson City and snow showers to Lake Tahoe through Monday, the National Weather Service in Reno reports.
There's a slight chance of rain showers Sunday night after 11 p.m. with a stronger possibility for rain showers Monday and Monday night. Snow levels with this cold system are expected to drop to 5,100 feet, according to the weather service.
Daytime temperatures in Carson City will be in the low 60s Sunday, with cooling Monday associated with the front. The forecast high for Monday is 51 and low 27; with Tuesday not much warmer, with a high of 52 and low of 28, the weather service reports.
Ahead of the front, winds will increase with gusts of 35 to 45 mph potentially causing travel restrictions for high profile vehicles and, potentially, some blowing dust east of Highway 395. A Lake Wind Advisory has been issued through 5 a.m. Monday.
Bursts of snow in the Sierra are likely Monday afternoon and evening along and behind the cold front with a light accumulation possible. The snowfall could cause slick roads, mainly over Sierra and northeast California passes, according to the weather service.
This front will be similar to the system that moved through the area this past Sunday and Monday, but not quite as potent.
A few showers will linger in the area through Tuesday with significantly cooler temperatures Monday and Tuesday. Spring gardens should be covered with widespread sub-freezing overnight lows, according to the weather service.
