Amodei Statement on Nevada Receiving More Than $240 Million in Provider Relief Fund Initial Allocation

Congressman Mark Amodei (NV-02) today released the following statement after the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced how the first portion of the Provider Relief Fund will be allocated.
The Provider Relief Fund, established under the CARES Act, provides a total of $100 billion in relief funds to hospitals and other healthcare providers on the front lines of the coronavirus response. The first $30 billion of the fund will be distributed starting today, with more than $240 million of this initial allocation going to Nevada.
“Coming off a very grim week nationwide, this is welcome news to our nation’s healthcare providers, medical professionals, and first responders who have been working tirelessly to defeat coronavirus,” said Rep. Amodei. “This approach will provide them with direct relief and increased flexibility to respond to the critical challenges they are currently facing without the worry of having to foot the bill at a later date."
Specifics of the CARES Act’s Provider Relief Fund Allocation for Nevada:
- All facilities and healthcare providers that received Medicare fee-for-service (FFS) reimbursements in 2019 are eligible for this initial rapid distribution;
- Providers will be distributed a portion of the initial $30 billion based on their share of total Medicare FFS reimbursements in 2019;
- Nevada has 2,581 Providers and Systems paid through the Public Health and Social Services Emergency Fund;
- The first distribution payments to Nevada will be received on 4/10/2020 for a total of $241,471,841; and
- Providers won’t need to do anything ahead of time to receive the payment. The vast majority will see payment deposits directly in their accounts today.
