Carson City deputies arrest man who fought with casino security, possessed meth
A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 900 block of Carson Street for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of a suspended sentence and battery, a sheriff's deputy said.
Thomas Raymond Brown was arrested after CCSO deputies were dispatched to a local casino for reports of a fight between security and a man. The reporting party stated security had the man pinned on the ground, but the fight was still active, the arrest report states.
On arrival, deputies assisted the suspect to a seated position. While sitting up, the man was unable to keep his balance and kept making jerking motions with his body, the arrest report states. Dispatch advised Brown was on alternative sentencing with a condition of no alcohol, no drugs, and to obey all laws. He has been on alternative sentencing since Jan. 7.
Alternative sentencing advised they wanted Brown to be placed on a violation hold.
Brown began complaining he had chest pains and had difficulty breathing. The Carson City Fire Department was dispatched and determined Brown needed to be transferred to the hospital, the arrest report states.
A security member at the casino reported that he was in the process of trespassing Brown for drinking too much and acting out after being refused further alcohol from the bartender. When he was told to leave, Brown ignored security and continued to drink the alcoholic beverage he already had, the arrest report states.
Security attempted to take the drink out of Brown’s hand when he pulled back and began fighting. A security member told deputies during the fight he was hit by Brown, and when they got him to the ground he bit a security officer on their right arm.
Deputies noted several bite marks on the security officer’s right arm.
Security provided deputies with Brown’s backpack and shoes. Inside, deputies found unused hypodermic needles, and two glass pipes with a burnt white substance inside, commonly used for smoking methamphetamine. He was transferred to the Carson City Jail without incident. Bail: $5,774; $1,000 cash only.
