Carson City deputies make felony arrests for domestic battery, drug possession and warrant
A 19-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday for suspicion of felony domestic battery with strangulation, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Bryan Ledezma was taken into custody at 2:43 a.m. According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched to a residence regarding a domestic battery.
The suspect advised to dispatch the victim struck him in the face. He also admitted to choking the victim, the arrest report states.
Deputies arrived on scene, making contact with the suspect and victim as part of the investigation. According to the arrest report, the suspect told deputies the couple got into an argument, and that he was struck in the face with something but was not sure what it was. The victim later told a CCSO deputy that she struck the man in the face with a full diaper.
The suspect said he became angry and put his hands around the victim, choking her. He told the deputy he realized what he was doing and removed his hands from her throat, grabbing both her wrists and pinning her to the bed. The suspect had a red bruise mark on the bottom of his right ear, the report states.
Deputies spoke with the victim and observed a petechiae on her throat. She stated she and the man were arguing, she said she bumped/hip checked the man, who then grabbed her by the throat with both hands, the arrest report states.
She advised that she had been choked for approximately 5 seconds. She advised she had a difficult time breathing and stated he then let go of her throat and grabbed her wrist, pinning her to the bed, the report states.
The suspect was booked into Carson City jail for suspicion of domestic battery with strangulation, a felony offense. Bail: $15,000.
In other arrests:
— A 49-year-old Carson City man, Michael Ray Martin, turned himself in for a felony warrant alleging attempted burglary and two parole and probation holds. He's being held without bail in lieu of a hearing.
— A 45-year-old Reno man was arrested Monday for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and alleged misdemeanor offenses.
Joseph Vance McLaughlin was arrested at 11:24 p.m. in the area I-580 and Arrowhead. He was also booked for suspicion of speeding 16 to 20 mph over the limit, failure to maintain a lane, driving with suspended registration, no insurance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Total bail amount listed: $4,705.
