Lyon County Sheriff's Office records, administration and substations close
LYON COUNTY — Effective Wednesday at 5 p.m. the Lyon County Sheriff's Office and area substations (records and administration services) will be closed to the public for 30 days.
Governor Sisolak has issued the following order:
All licenses and permits issued by the State of Nevada or by local jurisdictions that are set to expire during the state of emergency have been extended 90 days either from their current expiration date or 90 days after the state of emergency is lifted, whichever is later.
Finally, any person whose annual business license renewal fee is due during the declaration of emergency will have a 60-day grace period after the end of the state of emergency to file, renew, and pay their dues. Penalties on the licenses will not accrue for late payment.
The new order eliminates the immediate need for the public to come into the Sheriff's Office to renew licenses. Any new or renewal of Conceal Carry Weapon (CCW) applications will be postponed for 30 days or until the Sheriff has identified a low risk of COVID-19 exposure to the Sheriff's Office employees.
All other functions of the Sheriff's Office will remain in operation. Keeping the communities of Lyon County safe is our top priority and we thank you for all of your patience as we continue to make transitions during this difficult time.
Should you have a non-emergency, or question for the Sheriff's Office, please contact our main office at (775) 463-6600 or Lyon County Dispatch at (775) 463-6620 and someone will be available, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
