Man wanted in Douglas County on drug trafficking charges arrested in California
A man wanted in Nevada on drug trafficking charges by the U.S. Marshal Service was arrested Friday in California.
Davis Gomez was taken into custody by Antioch Police Department officers after they were alerted the man was wanted through the U.S. Marshal Service, said Douglas County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Pat Brooks.
Gomez was wanted for drug trafficking and failure to appear in Douglas County. U.S. Marshal Service advised they obtained information as to the whereabouts of Gomez, said Brooks.
The U.S. Marshal Service as well as the Antioch Police Department set up a perimeter around the location. Gomez attempted to flee and resist arrest at the location and was arrested by Antioch police after Gomez was bitten by a K-9 service dog. Gomez was treated at a nearby hospital and then remanded into custody, said Brooks.
Gomez will be extradited back to Nevada after court proceedings in California. Gomez is currently being held without bail.
