Carson City Humane Society's Pet of the Week: McFly
Happy Wednesday Carson City! The bees are buzzing, the sun is warm, and you're ready to get out and about, right? But what's that, something's missing? I know what it is, a best friend!
Meet McFly, a two-year-old, male Pit Bull Terrier who is currently available for adoption at Nevada Humane Society’s Carson City shelter.
McFly came to the Carson City shelter late one night after our animal control officers received a call from dispatch about a dog with a wound on his neck.
At the time of the call, law enforcement officers were unsure how McFly had acquired his injuries, but they knew he needed immediate intervention from animal care professionals.
NHS Animal Control Officers responded to the call and decided to rush McFly to a 24-hour animal emergency center.
It was determined that McFly had become injured after being hit by a car.
Thanks to local law enforcement and the swift action of our Animal Control officers, McFly was able to be treated for his injuries and after some much needed time healing, he is now available for adoption!
We believe McFly would do best in a home with older children over the age of 10.
He is ok to go home with other dogs as long as he gets to meet them first, and would do best in a home without cats.
Let's hear from McFly himself!
“I may need a little extra help with my training, but do not let that fool you, I am intelligent and can't wait to show it off. Learning basic commands and structure will be great for me, as it will help me with all my energy. If I have something to work toward, such as a goal per say, this will help me be motivated to do my very best. I aim to please, so why don't you and I get started on some training sessions today! Won't you take me home?”
You can meet McFly by visiting the Carson City branch of the Nevada Humane Society located at 549 Airport Road in Carson City, or by calling (775) 887-2171 to find out more!
