Jason Woodbury files for re-election as Carson City District Attorney
CARSON CITY — District Attorney Jason Woodbury filed for re-election Tuesday at the Carson City Courthouse. Woodbury won the office in 2014, and is serving the final year of his first term.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to serve as District Attorney,” Woodbury said. “I’m proud of our team’s accomplishments and looking forward to campaigning on that record of success.”
Calling the election “an employee performance evaluation from my bosses,” Woodbury said he plans to highlight his office’s record on public safety.
According to the Uniform Crime Report, reported crime in Carson City in 2017 dropped 5.5 percent from 2016 and 9.5 percent from 2015.
If re- elected, Woodbury hopes to establish a Child Advocacy Center to help victims of abuse.
Woodbury, 45, and his wife, Stacy, have two children attending elementary school in Carson City. Woodbury’s stepson, Noah Jennings, serves in the National Guard and attends the University of Nevada. His campaign website is jasonwoodbury.com.
