Brad Bonkowski announces run for Carson City Supervisor Ward 2
Brad Bonkowski has announced that he plans to run for Carson City Supervisor Ward 2.
Bonkowski is the third candidate to announce a run for the seat being vacated by Shelly Aldean, who decided not to run for reelection after serving on the board of 10 years. Liz Teixeira and Maurice White have also announced their intentions to run for the seat.
Bonkowski released the following statement:
Carson City Voters and Members of the Press:
I am excited to announce I have made the decision to run for Carson City Ward 2 Supervisor.
I believe I have the experience and attitude necessary to take on this role and I have been encouraged by the support I’ve received from members of the community. I believe I will have broad-based appeal and have the leadership skills required to guide Carson City down the road of economic diversification and prosperity.
I currently serve on Carson City’s City Center Citizen’s Advisory Committee, assembled specifically for the purpose of reporting to the Board of Supervisors in regards to the City Center project. The consistent feedback I’ve received is that my input on this committee was fair, objective, and level-headed.
I served as the Sierra Nevada Association of Realtors ® 2007 President and as the Treasurer of that organization for six years. I also served three years on the Strategic Planning Committee for the National Association of Realtors, setting global policy for a membership that exceeded 1.4 million Realtors.
I am a Carson City business owner and I have been for the past twenty-six years. I am a current member and supporter of the Northern Nevada Development Authority’s Commercial Real Estate Committee, working directly with manufacturers and businesses relocating or expanding in Carson City. These businesses have created jobs and jobs create wealth for our city. I understand first-hand what government needs to do to create an environment that will attract and keep businesses here.
In my leadership positions and in my business practice, I consistently hear that I am the voice of reason – uniting adversaries and overcoming objections by presenting fair solutions. I believe these characteristics, which have served me well in business, in previous leadership roles, and as a father, will be well utilized as a Carson City Supervisor, should the residents of Carson City vote to make that happen.
My goal as Supervisor will be to continue to make Carson City a business-friendly, family-friendly community, with an emphasis on collaboration, honesty, integrity, and fiscal responsibility. I look forward to a spirited campaign and I ask for your support.
Kindest regards,
Brad Bonkowski, CCIM
