Delta Kappa Gamma Nu Chapter presents 'Apple Awards' to three Carson City Teachers
Delta Kappa Gamma Nu Chapter presented three 'Apple Awards' to Carson City Teachers to fund fun classroom learning activities of their choice.
Delta Kappa Gamma is an educational organization of teachers who support other teachers.
Carson City School District’s Mark Twain Elementary School Speech-Language Pathologist, Taylor Mandelli is one of the recent recipients of the “Apple Award” from the DKG Nu Chapter in the amount of $100.00.
Ms. Mandelli plans to use the award to help fund and build an inventory of engaging and enjoyable materials for speech therapy geared towards language development for preschool to second-grade students.
“This age group generally benefits from colorful and fun visuals to aid in learning vocabulary and learning to be effective communicators,” Mandelli said.
St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School Kindergarten Teacher, Misty Long is the second recipient of the “Apple Award” from the DKG Nu Chapter in the amount of $200.00.
Ms. Long plans to use the award to help fund science hands-on equipment for her Kindergarten students. Her favorite grade to teach is kindergarten where she can foster a love of learning and reading in her students.
Bethlehem Lutheran School 4th Grade Teacher and Speech/Drama Group, Amanda Manning is the third recipient of the “Apple Award” from the DKG Nu Chapter in the amount of $200.00.
Ms. Manning plans to use the award to fund sound equipment for the Speech/Drama group she assists.
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society Nu Chapter was founded on May 19, 1978. Their membership is comprised of women educators in Carson City, Douglas, Lyon, and Storey Counties. Their members raise money for their Apple Award and Grants-In-Aid throughout the year.
