A 24-year-old man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of felony reckless driving and evading following a vehicle pursuit and subsequent investigation, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Following the investigation, Carson City deputies arrested Luis Saldana-Diaz of Carson City for the alleged crimes.
According to the booking report, at 6:25 p.m. a deputy observed a white pickup going 80 mph in a posted 45 mph zone. The truck was traveling south on North Carson Street toward Hot Springs Road.
The deputy activated their lights and siren. The vehicle continued at a high rate of speed, passing vehicles on the right side of the road and running the red light at North Carson Street and Hot Springs Road, continuing south on North Carson Street.
The vehicle turned onto Winnie Lane where the deputy lost the vehicle. A sergeant advised they found the vehicle in Flock with a Nevada temporary plate, returning to the suspect’s name and advised the plate returned to a Hampton Court address.
A deputy went to the address and the pickup was backed into the driveway. The back window of the truck was missing two stickers observed during the pursuit that had been on the truck and outlines from where the stickers had been removed. The temporary license plate was also missing, the report states.
The deputy spoke with the suspect’s cousin who advised he was at car meet. The deputy was able to speak with the suspect on the phone and asked him to return so they could speak.
The sergeant gathered camera footage from neighbors of the suspect driving his white pickup to the apartments next to the residence shortly after the pursuit. The cameras showed a man, later arrested for misdemeanor obstruction, going to where the truck was located and driving the vehicle away from the apartments, according to the report.
The vehicle pursuit suspect arrived and told deputies he did not drive his truck and that he was at work all day. The officer asked him who had access to his truck. He said anyone that he lives with. He was arrested for suspicion of felony eluding and endangerment to the public and reckless driving. Bail: $50,000.

— An 18-year-old woman was arrested Sunday for suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Following an investigation, deputies arrested Lilith Roselyn Ehlen of Carson City. According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched to an Evan Street address for a domestic dispute. The reporting party claimed there was a physical altercation between a woman and her daughter.
Deputies met with the victim who advised they had an argument with their daughter after confronting her about lying. She said her daughter wanted to leave the house and was told she needed to leave her phone because it was paid for by the parents, according to the report.
The mother stated the daughter began yelling at her, which resulted in the daughter being slapped, the report states. The suspect pulled out a pocket knife and raised it at her mother, she said. The mother said she was in fear and thought she was going to be stabbed. She advised the daughter made comments to stab her in the past.
Deputies interviewed the suspect who admitted to pulling the knife out after being slapped. She provided the deputy with the knife from her backpack that matched the description given by the mother. The daughter was arrested for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Bail: $15,000.
— A 20-year-old Incline Village man was arrested early Monday morning for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, driving without a valid driver’s license, possession of drug paraphernalia, open container in vehicle and no proof of insurance. Bail: $2,500.
— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of misdemeanor petit larceny. The man allegedly stole $811.24 in merchandise from Walmart. All items were located and returned. Bail: $352.
— A 49-year-old Carson City woman and an inmate at Carson City Jail was booked Saturday for two misdemeanor contempt of court warrants. The warrants were out of Carson City Justice and Municipal Court. Bail: $6,000.
— A 40-year-old man was booked August 28 for two misdemeanor warrants alleging violation conditions of a suspended sentence. The warrants were issued out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $6,000 cash.
— A 36-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday for suspicion of misdemeanor resisting a public officer and trespass resulting in arrest. According to the booking report, the woman refused to leave a Royal Drive residence and sat on a chair on the front porch.
Deputies attempted talk the woman into leaving on her own accord. She refused to leave after multiple attempts to tell her to leave. The deputy warned she had to leave or she would be going to jail. She continued to refuse to leave and was arrested. The woman pulled away and resisted being arrested. She was placed on the ground and handcuffed. Bail: $1,049.
— A 23-year-old man was arrested early Sunday, 2:30 a.m. for resisting an officer and making a false statement to obstruct an officer. According to the report, deputies in the 100 block of East Telegraph were speaking with a person in the roadway who was heavily intoxicated.
While assisting, a man not involved in the investigation walked between the deputy and the involved parties. The man was given multiple lawful orders for him to leave the area, the report states. The man refused and continued to interfere. This diverted officer attention from the original investigation due to his continued interferences. He was also yelling at the subjects who were speaking to other deputies.
After five failed attempts to get the man to leave, he was placed under arrest. As deputies attempted to handcuff him, he pulled his arms away, tensed up and made quick jerking movements. Deputies gained control of the suspect, who was verbally uncooperative, making aggressive jerking motions toward deputies and then placed into a patrol vehicle. Bail: $737.
— A 27-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday in the area of North Plaza and Telegraph for suspicion of DUI. According to the booking report, at 2:15 a.m. a deputy observed a sedan peeling out of the parking lot at Plaza and Telegraph. The vehicle stopped facing westbound at the intersection where there was no stop sign.
The deputy contacted the driver and observed an odor of alcohol emanating from her breath and slurred her words as she spoke. She submitted to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests. She was arrested for suspicion of DUI and taken to jail where she provided an evidentiary blood sample. Bail: $1,137.
— A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of DUI. According to the booking report, at 9:45 p.m. a deputy observed a vehicle approaching the roundabout at Stewart and Carson streets complete a U-turn in front of the deputy, crossing both lanes of travel and striking the right curb.
The vehicle then swerved back into the roadway and continued traveling down the lane line and not in a designated travel lane. The deputy observed the driving talking on his cell phone while driving, the report states.
The deputy made a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, observing the man’s eyes were bloodshot and watery and that he had very slow and deliberate thick speech. The deputy also smelled an odor of alcohol coming from his breath. The deputy asked if he knew why he was stopped. The man stated that it was because he was on his cell phone and showed the deputy his phone. The deputy requested his license, registration and insurance. The deputy asked if he had been drinking. The man said he left an event and had been drinking. He stated he had three margaritas at the event approximately 30 minutes before the time of the stop.
The man participated in field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Bail: $1,137.
— A 30-year-old female jail inmate was booked Saturday for a misdemeanor warrant alleging violation of conditions of suspension. Bail: $1,000 cash.
— A 48-year-old Carson City man was booked Saturday into Carson City Jail for misdemeanor warrants alleging stalking and making obscene, threatening or annoying phone calls. The warrant was issued July 31 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $5,000.
— A 42-year-old Reno man was booked Saturday into Carson City Jail for a misdemeanor violation of conditions of suspension warrant issued out of Carson City Municipal Court. Bail; $1,000 cash.
