Mammovan to visit Gardnerville and Dayton, mammography screening appointments open
Nevada Health Centers will have its Mammovan in northern Nevada at the end of February with stops in Gardnerville and Dayton.
To accommodate women who are due for a mammography screening, the Mammovan travels the Silver State and makes routine community stops.
Early detection is key in the fight against breast cancer, so access to screenings is critically important. Mammography screenings are primarily for women age 40 and older; however, screenings will be provided to those younger than 40 that have a screening referral from a provider.

Nevada Health Centers operates the Mammovan, a mobile mammography van that provides convenient access to mammography services to women. The Mammovan began operations in 2000, and was initially made possible by a grant secured by former Congressman John Ensign and former First Lady of Nevada, Dema Guinn.
Established in 1977, Nevada Health Centers is a non-profit, Federally Qualified Community Health Center program dedicated to providing access to quality healthcare throughout Nevada.
NVHC operates 19 health centers; five mobile programs, including the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, NVHC Mammovan, Nevada Children’s Health Project, NVHC Mobile Medical Services, and NVHC Mobile Dental Services; seven Women, Infants, and Children offices; and a Visiting Nurse Program in Lockwood.
