Carson City Soroptimist profiles 2021 'Women Helping Women' honoree Niki Gladys
In a final series of profiles, Soroptimist International of Carson City is pleased to introduce 2021 “Women Helping Women” honoree Niki Gladys, who is among eight local women to be honored this Thursday, Feb. 18.
Niki is the Executive Director for Advancement at Western Nevada College. Under Niki’s leadership, the Western Nevada College Foundation has significantly grown its fundraising efforts, and in particular, has increased the scholarship awards for students with over $540,000 in FY2020.
Given that the student population at WNC is 60% women, Niki’s efforts are definitely helping to improve the lives of women as they pursue their education. She has also created an environment where women are learning new skills and being empowered through events such as the recent WNC Women’s Summit and by serving on the WNC Foundation Board of Directors, which for many is a new opportunity where they can build leadership skills.
Thank you, Niki for providing women, of all ages, with the resources that make their dreams of a degree or a new career possible, and for your commitment to encouraging women to believe in the possibilities that come as a result of education, collaborative partnerships, and community engagement.
Niki is sponsored by Western Nevada College, in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments that are directly benefiting women and all those who are part of the WNC community.
