Free dementia education program for family caregivers in Carson City and Carson Valley
The Savvy Caregiver Training, presented by the Alzheimer’s Association is being offered in Carson City and Gardnerville starting in March.
The program helps family caregivers better understand the changes their loved ones are experiencing and how to best provide individualized care for a family member and their continued decline associated with Alzheimer’s or another dementia.
The Savvy Caregiver is a 12-hour training program delivered in 2-hour sessions over a 6-week period. It will be held on Friday mornings from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Douglas County Community Center at 1329 Waterloo Lane in Gardnerville starting March 1 and continuing for six consecutive weeks.
Pre-registration and screening are required prior to participation.
