— A 30-year-old California man was arrested Thursday evening for indecent exposure and being a drunken pedestrian after allegedly laying naked in the road and flashing his genitals.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the 2100 block of S. Carson Street on a report of a man running into the hills behind S. Carson Street.
Upon arrival, deputies spoke to a woman who stated that the man had been drinking earlier in the day and spoke with his daughter, during which he became upset and stated he was “going to see god.”
The woman believed the man was suicidal due to a history of attempts. She told deputies she believed the man had gone into the hills.
While deputies were speaking with the woman, dispatch received a call about a man matching the man’s description laying naked in the middle of the road at the corner of Carson Street and Koontz.
Deputies located the man, who identified himself and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, and was carrying an alcohol bottle.
Deputies took the man into custody. While enroute to the jail, the man attempted to choke himself with the seatbelt of the patrol vehicle and had to be stopped.
At the jail, deputies placed the man on a legal hold for his own safety. They learned during booking the man had been flashing his genitals at traffic, and was booked for indecent exposure and being a drunken pedestrian in the roadway.
No bail due to legal hold.
