Carson City sheriff’s arrest log: Man thrown out of casino jailed on battery charge

A 46-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday in the 1800 block of North Edmonds on a gross misdemeanor charge of battery on a police officer, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
The incident happened at a casino after management called the sheriff’s office regarding the man causing a disturbance and harassing customers by barking like a dog and meowing like a cat. The manager requested officers escort the man out of the casino.
Officers made contact with the man on the north end of the building. He was aggressive and confrontational, cursed at them and challenged their presence, according to the arrest report. At first he refused to show his ID and then taunted officers by holding out his ID and then yanking it away several times.
He was asked to sit down. When he stood up, he was asked to remain seated and then stomped his way toward the officer, shoving him in the shoulder with his right hand attempting to leave. The officer deployed a taser. He was arrested at 6:36 p.m. and taken to jail where he remained abusive and irate. He was placed into a padded cell.
Officers contacted the man’s wife who advised he had lost his job recently and should not have been drinking. She explained he was under a lot of stress and his behavior was highly unusual for him. Bail: $2,500.
— A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 2:25 p.m. in the 3400 block of Airport Road on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. The man allegedly slapped his mother in the face and then head-butted her following an argument that happened after she bailed him out of jail.
The woman told police he had walked into the home, and began throwing things around the house and screaming profanities at her before physically assaulting her. Officers observed a red, swollen goose egg forming over the woman’s right eye. Bail: $3,137.
— A 30-year-old Carson City man, who was an inmate in jail on another charge, was booked Sunday, 9:57 a.m. on a gross misdemeanor warrant, for allegedly destroying property. The warrant was issued Nov. 18. 2014 out of Reno Justice Court. Bail: $2,500.
— A 55-year-old Carson City man was booked into Carson City Jail Sunday, 1:55 p.m. on misdemeanor warrant, failure to appear, issued Oct. 2, 2014 out of Hawthorne Justice Court. Bail: $533.
— A 48-year-old Carson City woman was booked Sunday into Carson City Jail on three misdemeanor warrants, two failure to appear warrants issued Jan. 20, 2015 out of Dayton Township Justice Court, and injury to property warrant, issued Jan. 21. Bail: $3,380.
