Carson City Deputies Make Arrest in Stabbing and Assault with a Firearm Case
On January 24th, 2024, at about 2100 hours, Deputies responded to the 3400 block of Airport Road where a person had been stabbed. The caller reported the suspect had fled the area after stabbing the victim and pointing a firearm at him.
Deputies arrived to locate the victim with serious, but non-life-threatening lacerations and injuries from the altercation. The victim was transported to the hospital. Detectives identified the suspect as Shawn William Brogan (DOB: 5/12/1979). The investigation continued into the night and the following day. Brogan was located at a residence in the area of the 2700 block of East Nye Lane.
Due to the violent nature of the crime, the potential for Brogan being armed with a firearm, and threats made to the victim after the incident, Carson City SWAT was utilized to apprehend Brogan. Deputies surrounded the residence and Brogan surrendered without incident.
Multiple firearms and drug paraphernalia were located and recovered from the residence. Two other persons, David Woodward and David Todarello, were arrested along with Brogan.
