BUILD2WIN the topic at the next Rotary Club of Carson City meeting
Promoting residents’ awareness of social and civic concerns in Carson City and the surrounding area is the goal behind BUILD2WIN, a newly formed nonprofit. Members of the Rotary Club of Carson City will learn about the organization when BUILD2Win President Bepsy Strasburg speaks at the next club meeting.
The public is invited to attend the event which takes place Tuesday, January 23, at noon in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom.
“We believe a knowledgeable and informed resident can better influence city policies, decisions and projects that impact them and their families,” said Strasburg. “We want to help Carson City preserve its rural, small town character, what we treasure most, what attracts newcomers to our town, and what makes us proud to call it our home.”
BUILD2WIN is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that meets monthly to discuss a variety of topics. Its most recent meeting featured Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong and Douglas County Sheriff Daniel Coverly that focused on their different approaches to law enforcement.
Strasburg hopes more people will get involved. “We invite residents to attend our monthly workshops to learn about various topics, volunteering and expanding Build2Win outreach through referrals to organizations such as Rotary so we can share our goals and activities.”
BUILD2WIN is staffed by volunteers and relies on community donations for support. To learn more by joining local Rotarians at the club’s next meeting email carsoncitynvrotary@gmail.com
