Carson rallies to top Galena, 60-54
Trailing by six points at the end of the third quarter, the Carson High Senators rallied in the final period to edge Sierra League rival Galena 60-54 Tuesday night at Carson High School.
The Senators opened the game with a 16-12 lead after one period. But the Grizzlies rallied to take a five-point, 27-22, lead at the half.
Galena maintained its lead through three quarters before Carson scored 21 points in the fourth period to snatch victory away from the visiting Grizzlies.
Tez Allen led the way for the Senators with a game-high 19 points. Teammate Jayden DeJoseph followed with 17 points of his own.
The win keeps Carson High unbeaten in the Sierra League as the Senators improve to 9-0 in league play, and 9-5 overall. Carson remains atop the league in first place, two games ahead of the Bishop Manogue Miners, who the Senators play this Friday at Bishop Manogue Catholic High School in Reno.
