Mysterious and spooky: Youth Theatre Carson City spin on Adams Family enters final weekend
Youth Theatre Carson City is thrilled to announce our upcoming production of "The Addams Family, young@part" with the final performances this weekend at the Bob Boldrick Theatre at the Carson City Community Center.
Celebrate the wackiness in every family in this upbeat adaptation of the iconic Charles Addams comics. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family whom her parents have never met.
She confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before — keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.
The Addams Family features the talents of over 75 local youth grades K-12, both onstage and off. Leading the cast are Benjamin Achoka and Maesson Bowman as Gomez Addams, Lilliahna McColl and Anuhea Azevedo as MorticiaAddams, Kylie Carrigan and Jocelyn Pedersen as Wednesday Addams.
Also featured are Ysabella Johnson and Andrew Galloway as Pugsley Addams, Isaac Coulsey and Zimri Greenwood as Fester Addams, Kat Sweet as Lurch, Tegan McNabb as Grandma Addams, Bay Eaton as Mal Beinecke, Michelle Cho and Kaylee Redus as Alice Beinecke, Nygel Toreson and Jackson Hendee as Lucas Beinecke, as well as a host of creepy, kooky Addams Ancestors bringing this iconic story to life.
“These amazing young actors have worked so hard to bring the world of The Addams Family to life. We have had so much fun with these crazy characters,” commented Andie Wilkerson, Artistic Director of Youth Theatre Carson City and Director of The Addams Family, young@part. “Each and every cast member shines on the stage, and I cannot wait to share their incredible performances with our audiences. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful young people in our community.”
