Will we finally see snow on the valley floor this weekend in Carson City? Plus; road conditions to be dicey Saturday night
After last year’s historically snowy winter season, who knew we’d be wondering where Jack Frost has gone this year?
Despite a couple false starts that brought snow only to the higher elevations, we may finally see some — but not much — snow on the valley floor tomorrow.
According to the National Weather Service, snow is likely tomorrow after 1 p.m. However, with a high of 41 degrees, we may not see it staying around long. We’ll also see an increase in wind, mostly at 20 to 30 mph with gusts as high as 50 mph.
If you haven’t put away your outdoor Christmas decorations yet, now may be a good time!
Saturday night is going to be a cold one, with the lows dipping around 12 degrees. Snow will continue mainly through 10 p.m., and the wind should die down to only 5 to 10 mph with gusts around 25 mph.
With precipitation during the day, combined with melting and followed by that drop in temperature, frozen slippery roads are very likely. The NWS asks everyone to be prepared for inclement driving conditions.
If you can, it’ll be best to stay home, make some tea, get some cozy socks, and watch the snow out the window!
