Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Man booked for throwing object through window
A transient man was arrested Friday afternoon at 2:20 p.m. in the 500 block of N. Carson Street for gross misdemeanor destruction of property, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported, after he allegedly shattered a window at a lodging business.
According to the reporting party (RP), an employee who witnessed the incident, the suspect was observed early Friday morning outside of the room he was renting when he threw object into a window, causing the glass to break.
A Sheriff's deputy responded to the complaint and arrived on scene to survey the damage. Video surveillance showed the suspect first knocked on the window before kicking at the door. The footage then showed the suspect throw an object through the window glass.
Property damage was estimated to be less than $5,000 but more than $250, considered a gross misdemeanor in Nevada.
Per the report, the suspect had rented the room and somehow had become locked out of it. The RP signed a citizen's arrest form and the suspect was taken into custody later in the afternoon at a nearby gaming business and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking.
Bail: $2,500.
