Central Lyon Youth Connections Celebrates 25 Years With Free Santa Breakfast
Dayton, Nevada - Central Lyon Youth Connections (CLYC) has been an important asset in Lyon County communities for 25 years. They're inviting the public to join them in celebrating their 25th anniversary with a free pancake breakfast with Santa and photos by Denise Crites on December 9th from 8am-11am at the Dayton Valley Community Center at 170 Pike Street. Reservations for the event can be made by leaving a message at (775) 246-0320.
CLYC has skilled social worker staff members in each high school in Lyon County, known as “Safe Schools Professionals,” who support the development of a safe and respectful, positive school climate while also addressing any potential barriers to academic success that may exist within the student, home, school, or community.
CLYC offers a wide range of services, including prevention, intervention, assessment, referral, and youth volunteerism/service learning opportunities.
Project Success, one of CLYC’s longest running free programs offered in Lyon County high schools, helps increase school success and positive youth development through facilitated groups offering support around issues such as grief and strategies to increase academic skills.
