This Saturday: Trash Mob Keeping Hiking and Biking Paths Clean in Carson City
Muscle Powered, the local non-profit organization that advocates for cycling and walking, is continuing their monthly clean-up project called Trash Mobs. The Trash Mob meets on the third Saturday of every month for an hour to clean up litter along Carson City's walking and biking paths.
This month the group will be cleaning the Multi-Use Path starting on south side of College Parkway near the I-580 overpass. The strong Nevada winds often blow trash in from neighboring big box stores which collects along the fence line bordering the walking path. The group cleaned this area back in July, but months of windy conditions has resulted in the need for further attention from the Trash Mob.
This Saturday, the Trash Mob is looking for more volunteers to assist with the cleanup. If you are interested, please meet at the parking lot between Dotty's Casino and US Bank just off of Market St and E College Pkwy at 8:00 am this Saturday. Muscle Powered staff will supply you with trash bags, work gloves, bottled water, and even trash pickers. The efforts of the volunteers will help keep Carson City clean and safe for all residents.
