Show Features Watercolors by Nevada Artist Darlene Grace Novy-Zuelke
Gold Hill, Nevada - A show in Gold Hill titled "Splendors from the Brush" will include 50 paintings by respected Silver Springs, Nevada artist Darlene Grace Novy-Zuelke (1931-2011).
When and Where: The show opens at Maynard Station in Gold Hill on Friday, Oct. 7 from 4pm - 8pm, with refreshments and a no host bar.
The sale will continue Saturday, Oct. 8 12pm - 6pm and Sunday, Oct. 9 2pm - 6pm.
Darlene Grace Novy-Zuelke spent a lifetime as a working artist after completing the Gifted Artist program at the University of Illinois. For many years she worked around the United States, Canada and Mexico and her paintings are in galleries and private collections as far as away as Germany, Japan, Australia and South America.
Most of the paintings in the show are landscapes, with a few floral subjects and abstracts.
“Most of Darlene's work is watercolor. This collection ranges from exquisite miniatures of florals and landscapes, to larger landscapes and a few abstracts. You get a feel for the many changing landscapes in Nevada through her paintings,” said Robin Cobbey, co-manager for the event, along with the Charlie B Gallery of Carson City.
There will be a few antique and vintage items for sale as well.
Maynard Station is located on State Route 342, about 2 miles south of Virginia City.
The estate of Darlene Grace Novy-Zuelke has authorized the sale of 50 of her paintings.
