Airport manager to speak at Carson City Democratic luncheon
Ken Moen, Carson City Airport Manager, will be the featured speaker at the Monday's Democratic luncheon. He came to the job well prepared in 2018 after careers in air traffic control, publishing, and airport management with the Reno Tahoe Airport Authority. He will touch on the ways in which recently-passed AB406 will strengthen management at the Carson Airport Authority. He will also give a preview of the airport's open house coming up on Saturday, June 29th.
Ken moved to Sparks in 1976 as a senior in high school. Two weeks after graduation he joined the Army to become an air traffic controller. In 1982 he went to work for the FAA, first in Reno, then in Denver for several years before returning to Reno to become training quality assurance manager. He owned and operated a publishing business on the side between 1991 and 2009, producing the Wolf Pack Edge and Northern Nevada Business Weekly.
This event is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 8th, in the banquet room of Carson City's Round Table, on Retail Drive just off College Parkway. Sponsored by the Democratic Men's Committee, these luncheons help keep the lights on at Carson City's Democratic HQ. Suggested donations of $5 or more gratefully accepted but are not required. All are welcome.
