Carson City's Capital City Community Band hosts Jan. 27 fundraising concert
Director Nick Jacques and the Capital City Community Band Present their Annual Fundraising Concert at the First Presbyterian Church in Carson City on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019, at 3 p.m.
The Program: Favorite songs selected by the audience and band members over the years. The church is at King and Division Streets in Carson City. Suggested Donation: $10.
For 41 years, the Capital City Community Band has provided music free of charge to the community. At the Nevada Day Concert, the Baton was passed from founding director, Richard Doede, to Nick Jacques. Nick will continue to lead the band in several free concerts throughout the year.
Although the Band is all volunteer, there are expenses: cost of music, insurance, room rentals, equipment, storage, etc. The proceeds from this concert will assist the Band to meet these obligations and to continue providing the community with outstanding music.
The next concert will be Sunday, March 17, 3 p.m., Bob Boldrick Theater, Carson Community Center: A Salute to Young Musicians.
