Nevada Artists Association gallery presents featured artist Lorraine Foster
As a colored pencil artist, Lorraine Foster specializes in photorealism in her work. She has won awards and has had the New Wave Sticker company use her drawings of big cats as stickers.
Animals and wildlife are her specialties although she does still life and landscapes as well. Most of her work has been in doing consignment work of pet portraits for people and they have been amazed at how she is able to capture the personality of their pets in her portrait work.
Her father was an artist who studied under a Russian artist and in turn, he taught Lorraine how to draw and paint when she was a little child. In 1997 she received a Masters' degree in Creative Art and Learning from Lesley College and has used this education to teach art classes for many years. Lorraine has always referred to her talent as an artist as a gift from God.
These entries are available for purchase from Lorraine's Featured Artist Show which runs through Feb. 9 at the Nevada Artists Association Art Gallery, 449 W. King Street, Carson City. Open Tuesday through Sunday 12-4 p.m.
