The weather pattern will remain active through the first week of 2023 with cold storms an potential for snow accumulations on valley floors.
Weather forecast prompts cancelation of SnowTown Throw Down, fireworks still on

Due to the forecasted wet weather for both days, organizers have had to cancel.
At this time, everything is still planned for Heavenly Village but wind and weather could impact their events. If they are able to safely operate, organizers said it's still "a go."
While Nevada rents have fallen, renters say prices still too high

The problem is that the apartment complex’s upper floors have become significantly damaged and deteriorated to the point of being structurally unsound — an issue management has known about, and been to court for, since at least June 2021.

With more rain coming, Carson City Public Works addresses measures to prevent flooding

Some flooding was already noted on Tuesday throughout Carson City as rains continued. Heavy rains are expected Friday through the weekend, prompting a Flood Watch for the region. Carson City Public Works spoke with Carson Now on how to prevent flooding — and why it matters.

More details released in fatal Carson City shooting
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Thu, 12/29/2022 - 10:33amA Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report reveals more details into the fatal shooting and arrest for suspected open murder that happened Wednesday night in the area of East William and Stewart streets.
Samuel William Cocking, 19, is being held without bail for alleged open murder and firearm possession offenses. The adult male victim was allegedly shot by the suspect and died after being flown to Renown Medical Center in Reno.
