Nevada DMV warns residents of new text message phishing scam

Scammers posing as the Nevada DMV are sending out text messages asking recipients to update their MyDMV profile. A link in the text leads to a web page that resembles the real MyDMV portal.
Carson City’s Santa Train is back for its 37th Year beginning Dec. 4

Pulled by the vintage Virginia and Truckee No. 25 steam engine, the Santa Train will begin Dec. 4 and will continue for the first three weekends in December.
Carson City Sheriff’s Office is Joining Forces for Seat Belt Enforcement

Made entirely out of organic materials, Lizzy’s floragraph will be featured on the Donate Life float at the 133rd Rose Parade on Jan. 1, 2022 in Pasadena, Calif.

Douglas County Sheriff's Office issues warning following multiple vehicle burglaries, thefts

Carson Chamber Singers to begin rehearsals for Holiday Concert

The rehearsal, directed by Ricky Hutton, will be 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the LDS Church, 411 N. Saliman Road in Carson City. Four rehearsals will follow, including two with orchestra.

Carson City Board of Supervisors agrees to spend up to $30,000 on new Mills Park sign
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 11/19/2021 - 9:00amA motion to approve a $30,000 sign for the Marv Teixeira Pavilion at first failed during the Thursday Board of Supervisors Meeting, but was eventually adopted.
The sign will be placed at the top of the pavilion with individual, back-lit letters with an expense of up to $30,000 for both the sign and the electrical needed.
Expert on neo-fascism to speak at Monday's Democratic luncheon

Prof. Weinberg has served as a senior fellow at the National Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism in Oklahoma City and at the National Security Studies Center at the University of Haifa in Israel. His specialist research areas include right wing violence, neo-fascism and conspiracy theories.
