Carson City’s Shoe Tree Brewing Co. selected to craft the official Nevada Day beer

Long before Shoe Tree Brewing Co. was in existence, co-owners and brother Paul and Jeff Young have had a tradition of brewing a beer specifically for Nevada Day to share amongst friends and family.

This year, they are brewing the Official Nevada Day Beer for the first of hopefully many years.

Veteran Nevada Journalist Dennis Myers dies after suffering stroke

Longtime Nevada journalist Dennis Myers suffered a massive stroke last week. He was admitted to Renown Regional Medical Center on Thursday, Aug. 22, and declared brain dead on Saturday, Aug 24. A registered organ donor, he was kept on life support until Monday, Aug. 26, when he was taken in for surgical recovery of his organs for donation.

CARSON CITY — V&T Railway will hold auditions for the 2019 Polar Express season on Thursday, Sept. 5 and Friday, Sept. 6 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 7 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Eastgate Depot in Carson City. The railway is looking for actors, actresses and singers, age 13 and up to play roles from the popular movie including stewards and conductors, elves and Santa Claus.
