In 1864, Virginia City was the most populated town in Nevada. Today, the historic mining town dresses up and celebrates like they did 150 years ago.

Schedule of Events for Friday, Oct. 31
12 – 5 p.m., Artist Showcase and Music, Bucket of Blood parking lot, FREE, Dedication of “The Wall” mural, painted by local Virginia City artists depicting the town’s history.

3 – 5 p.m. Portrait Unveiling Ceremony and Reception, Gold Hill Depot, $30, V&T train ride and unveiling of Steven Saylor’s portrait, “Nine Cheers for the Silver State.”

5:30 p.m., Virginia City Statehood Parade, FREE, Down C Street starting at the Fourth Ward School.

After Parade Safe Trick or Treat, various Virginia City merchants, FREE, Kids are encouraged to trick or treat on the Comstock following the parade.

7 p.m., Nevada 150 Masquerade Ball, Piper’s Opera House, $125, Celebrate the sesquicentennial in high-fashion at Piper’s Opera House.
