In education as well as in business, the quality of people you hire and team you build is key in serving the client. We serve students first, and the Pioneer High School staff are top notch educators and understand the “why” we exist.
Every decision made is based on what is best for the individual student, all else is secondary. Our PHS team voted these two ladies as the recipients of Staff of the Year for many reasons. Here are some of the quotes from our staff.
Certified Staff of the Year at PHS: Tanya Long
“I thought that Tanya Long was deserving of special recognition. She is extremely devoted to success of students at Pioneer and she works very hard to ensure that their needs are met. PHS students look to her as a role model and mentor.
She spends countless extra hours keeping in contact with the families of students. She also is a devoted advocate for her students. Indeed, she is truly a teacher who cares.” “She has done an extraordinary job of getting our support systems for students in place. Through her yoga class and her caring demeanor, she has improved the student body’s overall moral.” “Ms. Long goes over and beyond to help students and families. She gives up her time to help out a student in need or tutor a student who needs to pass a class. She is devoted to our kids and our staff. Her hard work and kind heart are an immeasurable asset to PHS.”
Classified Staff of the Year at PHS: Sandy Granucci
“Though Sandy just started at PHS this year, attendance is one of the issues plaguing the success of students in schools around the country. Mrs. Granucci has taken on the task of calling and validating student absences and makes students feel welcome.” “In addition to making daily phone calls to parents, Mrs. Granucci greets students daily as they enter PHS. She wishes them a happy birthday and provides that personal touch that PHS is known for. Ms. Granucci’s persistence in regards to student attendance has proven to be extremely valuable to individual students, as well as increasing the average daily attendance at PHS.”
“Sandy has transformed our attendance issues and has gone above and beyond the call to get it done.” Sandy has done wonders for our attendance here at PHS. She is always willing to help, she is always cheerful and upbeat, and passes this along to both staff and students.”
