The Carson High School Wrestling team made their way just south to Douglas High School for a Sierra League duel. The Carson Senators were coming into a tough Douglas environment as the Tigers are hosting their Winterfest week this week as well. The place was packed and the action was never seemed to really slow down in this match up.

The duel started off in a very intense battle but Carson’s Keller prevailed and came out with a 11-8 victory to give Carson their first points of the duel. Carson followed up with a 15 second pin from Basa and a 28 second pin from Rogers to go up 15-0 early. Douglas responded with two pins of their own to keep Carson honest at 15-12.

Carson’s Rowe brought home six points for the Senators with a pin and six more from a forfeit allowing Carson to leap ahead to 27-12. Akains kept the streak going for Carson with a 45 second pin, but Douglas responded with an 11-2 victory for four more points to bring the total team score to 33-16 Carson. Kevin Russler busted out four very hard earned points for Carson in his 6-4 contest.

Sievers of Carson took control for the entirety of his match winning by pin fall in 4:26. Jasper followed suit with a 1:37 pin giving Carson the demanding lead at 48-16. Brady Rivera continued to pile on the points for Carson adding four to the score board in his victory at 6-0. Sheldon Miller of Carson finished the duel with an exclamation mark winning by pin in 55 seconds.

The final score of this contest that was almost entirely one side read Carson: 56, Douglas: 16.
