Feeding Pets of the Homeless, the first nonprofit organization dedicated to providing pet food and emergency veterinary care to the pets of individuals experiencing homelessness, celebrated its 15 year anniversary Thursday with a facility tour and ribbon cutting hosted by the Carson City Chamber of Commerce.

The celebration featured facility tours and a meet and greet with the board of directors and staff.

“Our 15 Year anniversary celebration and ribbon cutting event signifies a significant milestone in our organization’s journey,” said Feeding Pets Founder and President, Genevieve Frederick. “We are very grateful for the unwavering support from our dedicated volunteers, donors, and community partners who have made it possible for us to serve those in need for the past 15 years.

“This event is a testament to the impact we have collectively made in improving the lives of both humans and their cherished animal companions,” she said.

Volunteers were on hand to accept donations of dog and cat food. The occasion will provide an excellent opportunity for supporters to meet, converse and better understand the Feeding Pets mission.

Carson City Mayor Lori Bagwell officiated the ribbon cutting ceremony.
