
A 38-year-old woman was arrested Sunday for suspicion of felony grand larceny of an auto and other offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office report.
Jenifer Marie Woolridge was taken into custody in the 1200 block of Woodside Drive following an investigation of a vehicle reported stolen and then later returned. She was also booked for misdemeanor probation violation and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the report, deputies learned in the investigation the woman had taken the vehicle without permission from the owner in which she had been staying with. Deputies learned the woman had been staying with the victim in a separate room for a few days.
The man had reported his vehicle stolen with the Carson City Sheriff’s Office that morning at 4:21 a.m. At 9:29 a.m. that morning, the man called dispatch to advise the vehicle was returned.
Deputies interviewed the suspect, Woolridge, who said she used the vehicle without consent while the man was sleeping and that she found a spare key inside the residence.
Dispatch advised the woman was on parole and probation. She gave deputies consent to search where they located a glass pipe, a spoon with burn marks, several syringes and tooter straws, commonly used to inhale narcotics. Bail: $40,000.
In other arrests:
— A 36-year-old man was arrested early Sunday for suspicion of battery with a deadly weapon, gross misdemeanor false imprisonment and other offenses.
Fernando Salgado of Reno was taken into custody at 5:54 a.m. in the 4100 block of South Carson Street. He was also booked for suspicion of being in possession of a firearm while intoxicated and DUI.
According to the booking report, officers were called to the area after a report of a male and female involved in an incident, with the male attempting to break into the female’s vehicle.
Deputies arrived and observed both vehicles. The suspect was located in one vehicle and raised his hands and identified himself. During a pat down search, a deputy removed a car door handle. The handle was missing from the other vehicle.
The suspect said the female was his girlfriend and that the two had been arguing earlier and had drove their respective vehicles, where they chose to refuel in Carson City. The suspect told deputies the argument intensified and he attempted to block her from leaving the gas station.
Officers observed the man’s vehicle had heavy damage to the front end. He was asked what happened but he wouldn’t elaborate. He did say some of the damage happened from him while attempting to keep the woman from leaving, the report states.
Deputies observed through the drive seat window of the vehicle the man was in, a pistol on the seat. The man gave permission to allow a deputy to retrieve the pistol from the vehicle. The man said the pistol belonged to his friend wouldn’t provide a name.
While speaking with the man, deputies observed red, watery eyes and that he had an odor of alcohol on his breath. The man stated he had been drinking at the rib cookout. He agreed to field sobriety tests and was unable to satisfactorily pass the tests, the arrest report states.
During a search of the man’s person, deputies located a spent 9mm casing in his pocket as well as a live 10mm round. Both casing and bullet were entered into evidence. Bail: $30,000.
— A 39-year-old Carson City man, Khasin Barrow, was arrested Sept. 4 for suspicion of felony child neglect and misdemeanor violation of suspended sentence. Bail: $40,000.
— A 21-year-old inmate at Carson City Jail, Timothy Griffis, was booked Saturday for suspicion of felony battery by a prisoner, according to a sheriff’s office report.
According to the booking report, jail staff observed the man had taken meal trays. When staff arrived to the Griffis cell, he challenged them to a fight several times. When jail staff decided to move the inmate to the Male Discipline Pod due to aggressive behavior with staff, the man balled his fists, resisted and attempted to strike staff with closed fists. He delivered an intentional strike to a deputy’s groin with his right knee and stated “How did that feel?”
Deputies gained control of the inmate and he was booked for the offense. Bail: $20,000.
— A 29-year-old Carson City woman, Stephanie Christine Mullicane was arrested Saturday for a felony fugitive from justice warrant issued out of San Bernardino, Calif.
At the time of the arrest for the warrant, she was found in possession of prescription pills in which she did not have a prescription. Bail: $52,500.
